Getting Started in Dont Wake the Kitty

Dont Wake the Kitty throws you into a pastel map with a Steal prompt and a snoring giant. This getting started guide is the first-hour route so you do not donate your only kitty to a stranger or to Hello Kitty’s hitbox.

The game is a free Roblox steal-and-tycoon from Astra Studios, live since 1 October 2025, five players per server. You sneak, you steal sleeping kitties, you park them on plot pads, they print cash, you upgrade, other people steal from you. Fan-made, not official Sanrio.

Minute one: plot and HUD

Join from the official Roblox page. Skip packed servers if the queue looks sweaty. Walk to an unclaimed plot. Pads on the floor are your economy. Signs in front of pads are upgrades. The HUD strip is Index, Upgrades, Rewards, Settings.

Rewards is where codes go later. Index is the collection tracker covered in the kitty index. Do not stand in the shop during your first steal — giants do not pause because you are in a menu.

Minute two: a safe Common

Look away from the huge sleeping Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, or Cinnamoroll. The small stealable models sit on the floor with a Steal prompt (often bound to E on PC). Pick a Common or Uncommon at the edge of the plaza. Approach from behind the giant’s head, not across its toes.

Hold the prompt, turn, and run home, not toward another collectible. Greed is how tutorial clips become chase clips. The full angle guide is how to steal. This page only needs you to succeed once.

Place the kitty on a pad. You should see cash ticks. Click the sign once if you already have a few dollars. Then stop spending. Speed can wait until a giant actually tags you; empty wallets cannot buy a second pad.

Minute five: the first upgrade choice

If the Common ticks slowly, steal one more cheap kitty for a second pad rather than maxing the first. Two weak pads beat one slightly less weak pad while you learn the map. The upgrade planner is for after you have an Epic.

Open Index and note the name you just stole. Naming matters later when a board says “legendary” and you need to know if Angel Kitty is already at home.

Minute ten: other players exist

Five people share spawns. If someone is hovering your plot, stand in the doorway. A lock may cost Robux; if you will not spend, you are the lock. Read how to protect your base before you AFK “for a second.”

Do not raid a loaded plot on your first session. You will lose the fight, the tutorial muscle memory, and possibly the Common you just earned. Practice on world spawns.

When a giant wakes

Z’s stop, the model stands, chase music in your head even if the soundtrack stays cute. Drop the idea of a second steal. Sprint toward your plot using breaks — corners, elevation, grappler if you already bought one. If you die or drop the kitty, your plot pads should still be ticking. That is why the first Common mattered.

What to ignore on day one

• Mythic boards (bookmark how to get mythic for later)
• Script videos (see scripts if you are curious, then close them)
• Filling every Index slot
• Spending Robux on cosmetics

Day-one success looks like this

Three pads filled, at least one Uncommon or Rare, one upgrade tap, you know where the countdown signs are (map and spawns), and nobody walked off with your stuff while you read this sentence.

Controls differ on touch; skim controls if steal and jump fight each other. Then go back out and do a second lap quieter than the first.
